Overview

I taught myself Framer by creating a dynamic website for my family's Eagles pool, a seasonal competition where we predict game outcomes and crown a winner. The project involved building a CMS for efficient updates and included features such as weekly standings, charts, and stats.

Accomplishments

  • Taught myself Framer through this practical, self-driven project, which required lots of trial-and-error.

  • Boosted overall engagement for one of our best family traditions.

Responsibilities

I designed and developed the website myself - all while teaching myself the ins-and-outs of Framer. For what it's worth, I also did the branding for the FEP.

Process

I started learning Framer to build custom websites, expanding my skillset and freelance services. To gain hands-on experience, I decided to create a website for my family’s Eagles pool. Although no one really asked for a website, I saw it as a unique opportunity to apply my new skills and make our annual competition more engaging.

The website includes weekly updates on standings, charts, and stats, all compiled into a newsletter. As I handled these updates myself, I quickly realized the importance of a robust CMS. This project served as a practical lesson in designing a system that simplifies backend management, effectively making me my own client and ensuring the process was as efficient as possible.

The design is straightforward but purposeful, reflecting my focus on functionality and usability. The site is a testament to my ability to build practical solutions while learning new tools.
